Grab a sandwich or your coffee....So much to say about this one....

Day 1: Getting it together

It was about 2am when I left Brooklyn and started my journey towards Jersey. We zoomed through Staten Island. "Not bad for a Thursday night" I thought to myself. Traffic was nil, the air was muggy yet there was no sign of rain the entire time. The humidity made me wonder nevertheless. It would really be messed up if my work got wet in the rain... Thoughts of how I'd handle such a case quickly drowned in the hypnotic bass lines of Funk and Soul classics on the radio. The station was on point! Just what the doctor ordered. By the time I arrived at the Stainton Memorial Causeway or the "9th Street Bridge" as the locals call it, I began to feel the early stages of fresh mosquito bites on my legs and arms. At 4:30 am I had my hotel key and a perfect room location - 1st floor level and 2 blocks away from the boardwalk. I was in OCEAN CITY for the first time. The sun would rise soon but before I could let my eyes settle with my surroundings, I realized that I forgot to pack my credit card swiper... "Damn it!" I guess shit happens. Tah Phrum Duh Bush encouraging me says " look Ma...I just want your event to go well. This is important to you. I'm here to help." A feeling of frustration and gratitude took over me. "Thanks bu..." I expressed with a much needed hug. I had a critical business decision to make and not having that machine could potentially hurt my sales. It was done then. Back to NYC … and then back again.

It was now Friday morning 10am. It was time for me to get set up at the boardwalk. I was both excited and exhausted as we dragged all of my equipment and artwork across the hot wooden planks. The soreness in my arms was a steady reminder – 2 more days of setting up and breaking down…but it will be worth it.

Once everything was up and running, things appeared to go well. I had a great neighboring artist who as you read on, will see why Lori Felt saved my life on day 2 of the art show. It's also interesting to see how people react to art. My works drew the attention of many visitors – from babies to teens to the elderly. I was really overwhelmed with the amount of love and support I received. On the other hand some found my work somewhat offensive. Nudity was an issue for some people. The intensity of color and vivid array of textures drew toddlers to my tent! It was pretty funny to me though - a kind of dichotomy. My heart completely melted when I saw a parent pulling a radio flyer with 3 little ones in it. One of them - a girl, was attracted to my ice cream themed painting "Humanity is Like Ice Cream" and in one continuous motion she extends her tiny hands as if scooping the ice cream of the canvas and makes an eating gesture. So cute!!!
I also had the pleasure of meeting David Nahan - a photo journalist who was shooting photos for the OCEAN CITY SENTINNEL, a local publication and a supporter of my art. Plus we ran into the one and only HYPHEN-ONE who was showing works as well. This cat is nice with his skills. Big shouts to Nicole and Letitia Lee (her work is amazing ya'll). Needless to say, we were completely useless by the evening...still hadn't slept, and we were hungry as hell but wait! We had a greek salad that consisted of a 1 to 10 ratio - that's 1 oz of chicken to 10lbs of lettuce. Bitter lettuce.Oooh was I cranky. A bed and a decent solid meal would've made all the difference. Every where I went or called had 9:00pm closing hours. Luckily I found a late spot and ordered chinese take out...and fell asleep eating it. The GRIND WAS ON MAN!!!!

Day 2: Up,Up and Away....(literally)

With only 4 hours of shut eye, I awoke that saturday morning to learn that a storm had swept through the area an with it destroyed a hefty number of tents and art works that were left drilled and locked in place at the boardwalk. Ahem...My tent well... now looked liked an art installation with its contorted post-storm shape sans its green mesh (god knows where it went. Never found it.) I couldn't believe it! There were no signs of a storm the day before - heck...the night before! Then…in one swift thought I remembered that Lori Felt (another fellow artist that was my neighbor) had briefly mentioned that she was told a storm might show up. I was more concerned with no one stealing my tent than strong winds wreaking havoc on the beach. Her tent did make it though – which was amazing! We had the same kind of tent structure.
There was no time to waste - Tah and I set out on operation “T.H.I.N.K. Q.U.I.C.K.” About 2 hours later, I was STILL out about town desperately looking for another canopy. “There’s gotta be something available…” I repeated in my head constantly to keep me from losing faith. Although a bit disappointed, I wasn’t ready to give in just yet. Waiting at a cashier line at a local supermarket, I had just decided to go with beach umbrellas for shade when I got a surprise call from yes…Lori Felt! “Oh…I’m so sorry.” She sincerely shared her knowledge of how seriously the storm affected other artists in the show. “ You can use my tent since we’re not in today…” I felt so blessed to have come across such kind people. I wondered earlier that afternoon if she was ok since I didn't see her and her husband set up that morning. "I'll take very good care of it. Thank you so so much!"
Overall, I got my exhibition set up late on day 2. Most artists were breaking down their equipment by the time I was up and running again. Hanging out at the beach well into the late evening was so much fun! Ocean City was bustling on the boardwalk and many stopped by to chat and enjoy my works and some become new owners. I fell in love with the lights that decorated the rides. I even painted a few pieces inspired by it. The scene reminded me of Coney Island's potential in NYC. Did you know that 150,000 visitors come down to Ocean City during peak summer? That's another conversation people.... Big big shouts to Cait and Aaron (You guys are so chill!), Carlo (thank you for supporting! You have a classic!), Purrr A and Noah! Hilarious you 2.

Then later that night...while Tah and I were wrapping things up, Salsa started blasting out of the jazzy radio station I was tuned into and it was ON ya'll! We danced our asses off and called it a night. Success!

Day 3: Philly Baby!

By far, Philly was in the building deep for days 2 and 3! So much love and so many wonderful conversations! Thank you all who took the time to take in the art and ask me stuff! Mark and Rachael....you guys rock!!!! It was my last day exhibiting and man was it intensely engaging. I had repeat customers and had inspired several young teens in pursuing their artistic endeavors. Big ups to Ashley - you are a ray of sunshine girl! Stay focused. Also, Alex - enjoy homie! You've got the first of it's kind. Some one actually said "well...its just not what we're used to here..." as they studied the various paintings I had on display - particularly the nudes. "Even better" I thought. My goal was to bring my work out to OC and have a great time meeting people and making connections. It's not about fitting in. Sunkissed and satisfied, it was time to pack things up and make my way back to NYC.

Traffic was horrible but I was happy to be back as I couldn't wait to take stock of the experience! All that fun and I never touched the water. Maybe next time.

I had a great time performing with the ladies and grooving to the sounds of Spokkin Movement. I couldn’t have been in better company! The crowd’s energy was B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

Sugar And Spice...Not Everything's Nice

My home girl and deadly poet Charlotte Mishell and I kicked it months ago about putting together Sugar and Spice. She made moves and on May 13, 2008 turned SALUTE NYC into a seriously estrogen rich stage show! Both poets Charlotte and Dorshay threw it down with powerful and witty performances. Big shouts to Definition, LMNOP, Rebel Eagle, Rose, Mike And El Gato for showing love! I was warming up with my back ground colors when Mariella and her band XO took over and rocked out! Their set provided the theme for my painting that night. Love you guys. Check the painting out and let me know what you think. I received great responses from the crowd.
Plus there was a lot of hip swaying and jerkin' as a belly dancer made the floor her playground. Hot!!!! Then Melanie with her sultry voice closed the event like a queen. Wow this girl can SANG! Since it was Charlotte's b-day we took a moment to share the smiles and cake! It's always nice to do events that are more intimate in nature. This one sure fit the bill even though the Pussy Cat Lounge is right downstairs...Ahhh distractions....!

An Art Affair with NYU

In the spirit of African Heritage month, New York University has been busy offering a variety of arts infused activities and events. I was very fortunate to be selected for compelling group art show called “An Art Affair with Hip Hop”. It featured artists both on and off campus. This show was must see event for anyone who loves the art of our music and the music that propels our art. I’ve had 3 paintings on view – all created live recently. A lot of you were there when I created them. Big Ups to everyone who came out and experienced the works in a whole other light! I received my Master’s Degree from NYU. It’s was a pleasure to be a part of this event.

Happy Belated New Year! Lol
This year has kicked off rather strange…. I had a hard time healing from a back injury. It took all month ya’ll! This was a very stifling position to be in for me. Basically my ass had to stay in bed sans “paint brush” or anything else for that matter. As anxious as I was to get my formulating on, I’m glad I was able to rest as I had a great time tonight. Here’s how my first show of the year went down….

The “Get Open” Hip Hop Tribute by the Optimus Foundation

It was a cold and windy night as I made tracks towards the G train all the way from Washington Heights with 2 EXTRA-large portfolios. By the time I got to Bar Sputnik in Brooklyn, my arms were like “Aight Demo! You need to stop playing these games man!” But it was all worth the grind…
My peeps from the Optimus Foundation invited me to be the feature artist at their Get Open Hip Hop Tribute at Sputnik. My one night solo exhibit included a new painting called “One mic, indivisible” which took the breath out of many. There’s a going bid right now for that piece! Pics will up soon so remember the title. Thank you all who came out to support the cause! DJ Geko Jones of Funkworthy came out and kicked it with us too. That’s wassup! A B-boy / B-girl contest swooped the night away round for round. They came from all over the city meng! Badass dance crews with an amazing ability to defy gravity. Congratulations to all participants! Finally, at half time Why G and his band tore a new third eye in us all! He perfomed “Planet Funkitron” in a lab coat complete with mad scientist accessories. I love you man! Plus Rugged Raw opened up the half time break with no remorse (heavy weight belt included)! Optimus…the experience is priceless. Next Stop...NYU and AFRICAN HERITAGE...

Private Viewing and Last Rites of 2007

A Brooklyn Affair...2 great events back to back!
I held a private art show called “Frostbite and Hot Chocolate” back on 12/9/07. It was a beautiful evening filled with celebrity faces and exciting new ones. Some of my guests were actually just strolling by the neighborhood when my art caught their attention from outside the spot. I had select pieces on exhibit throughout the night including the latest magnet paintings series, and a sneak peak on works in progress. A few pieces now have proud new owners! Enjoy!
Thanks to all who came out. I had a great time kicking it with everyone! Thank you for your smiles, great conversations, and appetite! Big shouts to DJ Booshwheelz for holding the music down. Watch out for the next private Demostina art show in the spring of 2008. Make sure you RSVP and come out to next one!
Then just last night, I rocked the canvas at the “2007 Ain’t Dead Yet” Hip Hop extravaganza at Vox Pop in Brooklyn. Great performances by a monstrous line up of musicians: Sleep Walkas, Euphon, Tah Phrum Duh Bush, Coole High, Hene C and Radikal of 37 Deep. Yeah man…DOPE! I received a lot of wonderful feedback regarding my live work that night. Fans were like “Damn girl! You just messed my head up! One moment I see you using newpaper and in the next you have like 3 faces drawn… ”. The place was packed! I started the painting with torn newspaper collaged (glued) together in strategic places. NO ONE had a clue of where I was going with it. Another mission complete. I’ll have the piece up on my site soon. Unfortunately I have to shoot the artwork over. Sorry ya’ll…
Well, as ‘07 has quickly arrived to it’s last 2 nights, I'm currently locked in the lab finalizing a couple of pieces for upcoming shows in 2008! No rest for the creative mind.

After a hefty past 2 months of events and freelance work - not to mention working for the man, I decided to go on a 3-day hiatus and do nothing but paint. As much fun as I have doing what I do, it is crucial for me to set time aside for myself to regroup, evaluate, and reflect on things. Its how I grow individually. Stunting such a growth is detrimental to my persona. ANYONE's persona I would guess. In fact, I just finished 2 spankin' new Female Factor paintings for a powerful exhibition featuring the works of over 20 women about women! I was inspired by yoga poses.

Halloween Funkworthy Style

My favorite time of the year....Halloween! I just painted and danced my ass off! Funkworthy had their Halloween bash tonight! Peep this, I came dressed up as Harley Quinn! Tommy gun and all man!!! She's HOT! Everyone really liked my costume. It took many a minute to recognize me. As long as it brought a smile to their faces! But I still think GekoJones' Tiki costume was so trippy..the should have won the contest. Nice job homie! By far one of the best Halloween experiences I've had. Big shouts to Cee-lyne for sliding through and jammin out with me. Ok....I'm out! Peace!!!!

Eliel Lucero's soiree of musicans and live art has returned from it's hiatus and brought back the thunder... It was like a story where he tantalized us with performances by Hip Hop Druids The Insects and Reggiment and held our anticipation until Noble Society and 3rd Party confirmed that THIS IS NOT A COMEBACK!!!! It's Classified.... and so I was left with no choice. And so I painted...

The Official Bass Camp Sessions Kick Off!

I was thrilled when Praying Mantis of Bass Camp Recordings asked me to do a live painting set at his kickoff event called Bass Camp Sessions. This man is such a dope DJ and great person to work with. Dude had everthing laid out months in advance. That's what I'm talking about! The line up was incredible! Each DJ got on and tore Bowery Poetry Club down man! Big shouts to Andre, HG, Aero MC, Miz-Eyesis*, DB, Wize, and Lion Dub. Also to everyone who danced, drank, chilled, chatted, and healed!

Flatbush Frolic!

The coldest day in September so far! The annual Flatbush Frolic took place today in....that's right you guessed it Flatbush Brooklyn - the center of BK! I'm exhausted running on 56 hours of being awake. Nevertheless, the Frolic was succesful. Tah Phrum Duh Bush was in the area HARD!!! A bunch of us got together and spread the word about his song "Flatbush" which is on it's way to grabbing every Flatbush connected person's ears. Tah 's live performance of "Flatbush" earlier today made history. Keep your eye on this gem. He's been cookin' up all kinds of projects for '08. We held down a tent from which we sold 37 Deep's "Fl@tbush" t-shirts, independent music, plus 4 of my live art pieces were sold on the spot! This includes the Funkworthy Anniversary piece that I painted at Galapagos 2 weeks ago. Thank you for the support! I'm not playing around man!

The goal is to push "Flatbush" by Tah Phrum Duh Bush for radio play.

Funkworthy 1yr Anniversary @ Galapagos

Funkworthy just celebrated their 1 year anniversary at the famous Galapagos Arts Space in Brooklyn's Williamsburg. It was fantastic! The performances were great and the guest DJ Mark Visonary was as hot as he can be. On top of that I experienced it straight from the main stage itself. You see I just rocked a BADD ASS painting on stage as a result of the BADD ASS music that infected us all! Everyone came out to show love and raise FUNKWORTHY AWARENESS cuz we’re here to stay Dammit! Congratulations!

Demo Does Vegas!!!!

That's right! and while I'm here purely on business, the views are breath taking. This place is dangerous man! I've seen everything from the lavish to the skank-ish.... First the Venetian Hotel is really messing with my sense of day and night. Alot of these hotels do. It's bugged out! Also, in my quest to find a Walgreens or something similar, a few men thought I was some kind of uh..dancer! So they kept giving me porn flyers....Uh...SERIOUSLY Ya'll! This is happening in plain daylight! Then A taxi driver tried to sell my friend and I cheap tickets to 3 of the top clubs in Vegas. Fake ones that is...Then today I almost got arrested in a casino for taking out a camera at a Roulette table! Hmmmm.... I think Vegas likes me! I had a great time but I'll be back in NYC in 8 hours! See ya soon!

M3rd: The Lyrics & Battle Show

Wow! What a memorable night!
Tonight I kicked off M3rd (Music is a Major Motivator): Lyrics and Battles Series. Remember the first one back in 2006? Time flies when great music and art are involved. It was so DOPE!!! The event went down at Club Midway -which is located in the lower east side of NYC. Thank you all who came out to support! And a special thank you to Jo! You made everything smoother! Ok... so, the Lyrics and Battles theme was born out of my love for word play. Hip Hop music is an addict of it so I decided to create a series of artworks that would depict my interpretation of strong wordplay in independent Hip Hop music. I’ve been having so much fun with this idea that I’ve officially made it a magnet series.

Here was the line up for this M3rd session:
Steady Sounds were provided by : Dee Jay Dom-Nice, DJ Watts, Geko Jones & Eliel Lucero
The Visual Alchemists: Crystal Clarity, ALX, Sylvia Ortiz (This was a lethal combination)
Mic Specialists: 3rd Party and Tah Phrum Duh Bush put on HOT performance! They had the crowd in the zone!

And just when I thought the night couldn't be more amazing... Adam Bernard (Journalist Extraordinaire) surprised me with my feature in FOAM Magazine's Music Issue! I almost lost my mind ya'll. Ahh... 6 months earlier, I envisioned tonight and I couldn't be more honored to have had such dope artists, crowd, and venue staff take part of such a movement. More to come... Peace Y'all!
Tonite I rocked the canvas on stage with a fantastic artist by the name of Liana. It was Funkworthy FM's "White Party" at the Bowery Poetry Club. What you don't know is that I almost LOST my mind when I found out last month that Funkworthy would be sharing the wheels with ALMA NYC's DJ True and company! ALMA stands for "All for the Lov eof MUsic and Art". So you understand my plight now right? Ahhh....the nights I've spent jamming to neo-brazilian soulful house at Sullivan Room. Tonite was a historical moment. But one of my favorite highlights of the night was Geko Jones Drum & Bass rendition of the classic dominican merengue song called "Tabaco y Ron" (Tobacco and Rum) by Fernandito Villalona. DAYUM!!!! That's the kind of magic that happens at a Funkworthy event. The dopest night yet!

And that's EXACTLY how it went down. I was on the phone trying to pay for my flyers and freelance job was born! Who would've known man!

This never before seen piece was comissioned by a chill dude named Khris who works at that printing business. He really liked "Lyrics and Battles" - the June 2007 M3rd flyer art (we'll talk about that later...). Mariella's Birthday Bash!

Who said Friday the 13th is always unlucky?Ahem...I found a discrepancy tonight dammit!

My soul sister... the beautiful Mariella and her band blessed us all with one of the most powerful performances I have witnessed to date. FYI...our birthday girl -Mariella, is also the counterpart host to freestyle terror - IllspoKiNn at the famous "Freestyle Mondays" live Hip Hop at Sin Sin Lounge in NYC. You'll often find her weaving her soulful voice into the fabric of the night's cipher. No nonsense, just a bad ass band with bad ass emcees, poets, singers etc...

So Mari-hell-yeah like we call her, held her b-day bash at a really chill and understated loft space in the financial district. You wouldn't even know the entrance if you walked passed it. But what went down on the inside...WELL!...lets take a look here:

What a night man! Tonight, it was strictly hip hop classics with a twist of the funk! I was invited to come out to yet another fantastic Funkworthy experience. I ran into some people whom I have not seen in months! Met a really cool burlesque dancer who invited me to her next show! Now some of you might know FW for their "Sound Clash" dub and Drum/Bass sessions - but tonight it was straight classics like a pair of Reebok kicks on yo mama's sister's twisted, Vaseline-faced best friend's neighbor .

An Erotic Night @ Niagara Bar

February has been busy meng! I then had a show at Niagra Bar.

The Erotica Show was fanatstic! My homegirl Sylvia cuarted the shindig. Thanks luv! Met a lot of nice erotic people too... ha ha! Lots of familiar faces came out to support! Thank you all so much for swing through....I had a blast!

I had 3 pieces in the show with a focus on sequins! How sexy is that! I've created many more since then and some are still available for sale.

I have continously stressed how influenced my art is by human interaction. "Human dynamics" as I call it, is a mystery in itself.

On February 14....I had a group show that was centered around "The Exquisite Corpse" a visual game where people blindly collaborate on a piece. This idea was commonly applied by the Surrealists during the 1920's. The result is then a dream like collection of imagery that for that stems from the unconscious. Ok.....Suckers and Biters reflected the unconscious tangled weave of that which we call love....

After an intensely blind collaborative session this is what we created:

From the Freestyle Pyramid game to turntablist madness to a closing super cipher, these dudes turned the Bowery into the red carpet of independent Emcees! Demo's Auction @ The Knitting Factory!

Okay.....Okay....So the New Year kicked off Lovely! On the day of the Epiphany itself I got busy at the legendary Knitting Factory, NYC with some live painting. "The Style factory" is a kick ass Hip Hop event that just celebrated their 1 year anniversary! This event is brought to you by the Dope Emcees of The MIND SPRAY CREW. I had the pleasure to bless the canvas with a piece that honored their year long achievement in the undergound scene! While the mic was being torn, my brush did all the translating. After I was finished with the painting, it was auctioned off by Tah Phrum Duh Bush! Man...You should've seen it ! People way in the back were trying to bid for the piece as Tah's ridiculousy fast paced auctioneering lingo hyped up the crowd even more! This joint was packed and brought so many headz together despite 3 other major events that went down at the same time. My sister came out with hers to support! It's A Political Thing...

Back in December a good friend of mine and fantastic artist Sylvia curated a show called "Political Dogma" at Niagara Bar in the Lower East Side. I know...Sounds hot DON'T IT? Well it was and in case you weren't there here's what I came up with:

So let's see....I ran into some old college peeps, met some more great artists, ROCKED OUT with a Punk band called Gunners! They are a BADD ASSED BAND! AND I was given a bangin' pen as a gift by a Hottie! Thank U Luv! Then just when I thought the night was dying out, Jimmy Falon casually walks in to the exhibition space and starts checking our work out! He made a brief but pleasant pause at my piece which was cool.

So what the hell was I thinking for this piece titled "Suckaz for Sale" ? The inner workings of the oil industry disgusts me to no end. Since I had free reign over the "political dogma", it only felt right to address the issue in a humorous fashion. A lot of people at the show really enjoyed the piece. Some called me a "provocative and biting" artist. WOW.... If this is your first time seeing "Suckaz for Sale", let me know your thoughts on it!

On the erotic side of things Sylvia's having another show in February and yours truly will be among the artists. The S&M show will be tantalizing. Only the brave and daring apply!

I cannot stress just how DOPE this event was. The weather sucked seaweed as the rain just seemed to have never ended that night! The few that came out really showed love! Your neurons not aware of M3rd yet? The debut of M3rd (Music is a Major Motivator) was on November 2006 @ Alphabet Lounge, NYC. This is an event brought to you by Demographoniks and Relax Star Vibe School which aims to honor independent music in the form of performance and visual art. The jump off featured several of my pieces which have all been inspired by independent Hip Hop, Drum & Bass, and Reggae etc... The night was at the mercy of 3 HOT Dj's : Polarity (BLX NYC,XY Buttermilk Bizcutz), Geko Jones (Funk Worthy FM), and Dom Nice (Hitmen Squad). Each spun Hip Hop, D& B, and Reggae respectively. I couldn't have a more powerful set of talented brothers on the wheelz bringing my work to life and vice versa. Tah Phrum Duh Bush celebrated his 1000th myspace friend status and had the ILLEST marathon freestyle session with Dom Nice, K Banger, Coole High and Cruz. DAMN! Just look at the pics...I love u guys for that sick cypher! It was nice meeting so many people including a brother who came out from Manchester England! Thank you Nefarious, Brig, Alex, Eliel, and Rose! I'm warning ya... M3rd is catching fire and it ain't extinguishable! The next one will inlude live performances, guest DJ's and Visual Artists, and a whole lot of GROOVE! It's coming in April so don't sleep homies. I break for art and music. heh heh heh....

Demo Gets Busy @ Love, NYC!

Rain, rain, go away...

Man, listen...you just never know!
NYC Headz! Remember that massive rainstorm earlier this August? Thursday August 10th that is. My ass was stuck in traffic forever that night. I was ready to get down with my painterly self at LOVE (www.musicislove.net) which located in the Greenwich Village area of Manhattan.
"Cinephilia" was a benefit for Moot Productions (independent film sect) which let loose body rocking D&B, Jungle, Hip Hop, House, Funk and Live Art! I was the only live painter in the joint and was given a lot of freedom to work the 7 foot wide canvas. Thank you Nick and Hired G for the opportunity! A film theme was the idea, so I unleashed the creative juices. and came up with...

That night turned out to be one of the most memorable events this summer so far. So what if the rain kept many tucked inside their homes?Those who came out had a good time @ LOVE . The performances were bangin' (Macedeonia, Been Jammin, Black Opz, and Chaos Frame). I love to work with music on so I was in heaven that night. Plus I met some really dope people. Ya know who you all are! From Banana Cream Pie to Kango Hats to New School University Alumni...Thanks for kicking it with me through my process. The staff @ LOVE is great too! Made me feel right at home. I have to say...it's all about the experience man.

So when I left the spot late that night, it had stopped raining and the temperature dropped drastically. Needless to say a head cold was begining to brew...But I still decided to get a bite to eat with a friend before I called it a night!

Keep your eye on the elephant dammit!

Okay so I know it was way back in July...but DAYUM what a DOPE night that was! I know some of you remember the FALL DOWN event @ Asterisk in Brookyln (NYC) on friday 7/14 /06. It was a night of independent Hip Hop and Visual Art. They complement each other so well. My senses were overloaded man! The artwork was FIRE. One hot artist to watch out for is Crystal Clarity, who's work was surreal and captivating. You're a badass mama! I'm glad we met (thanks to Alex of course...thank u homie!) The one and only Meres One - graff artist supreme (ha ha!) did his thing too! I'm not even gonna touch Meres on this one ya'll. The man is working on all sorts of hot projects! Then Emcees like Tah Phrum Duh Bush, Bisc One, and Sentence ROCKED the crowd to pieces man! Yo... These cats are dangerous on the mic! Plus when you have a DJ like my man Milk Money doing the cuts....IT"S OVER! Check out Tah's official site @ www.filthyclean.com. You've seen nothing unitil you see him go to work on stage! So yeah, I had to gather myself after all that jamming I did. We turned that dance floor into a hip hop sauna SHUN!!! So much fun. So chill and free no static, like Hip hop ought to be. One of the highlights of my night was meeting you wonderful FD peeps that joined my e-mail list. I had a great time building with ya'll about all sorts of shyt. I hope you enjoyed the night as well. I left the joint ready to bang out 10 pieces (art) in one shot. Thank you FALL DOWN CRU!

Demo's Art @ the City Worker's Show 7/14/06

Damn right, I'm recapping it all ...I have to fill you in the wonderful evening that transpired @ The Salmagundi Art Club (NYC) on Friday July 14. It's only fair! But let's go back for a moment as we journey back in time with Demo...

This past June, I received notice about a juried art show that would take place at SAC. A fellow colleague hooked me up with this info. He was said "Here, you might be interested in this." While trying to make sense of the handout he gave me I replied " Where did you get this from? it's right up my alley man!" He's like " All I saw was 'art' so I passed it down to you. It's all you"
Damn right, it was all me - artist who also works for the city of New York.

That's right ya'll, Demo made moves and was fortunate to have been selected as one of the exhibiting artists! This has to be one of the dopest exhibition themes I've seen in a while. The "City Workers Show" as it was appropriately called, was packed with people on opening night!. There were so many art pieces and I was thrilled to have been a part of that experience. Met a lot of nice folks who were digging my painting titled "El Plan" (if you haven't seen it yet, peep it in the fine arts section of my site.) AND my wonderful friends and colleagues came to show me support and enjoy the vibe. It was a pleasure to see them!As if things weren't already fabulous, a very special fan came out and brought me a red rose. DAYUM...surprises, got to love them. Even my boy Jose came through at the end. You're the shyt man! Thank you guys! It meant so much...always.

A moment of contemplation between my sister and I! It's amazing to me how a painting can travel so much. "El Plan" made it's debut @ Woman Made Gallery in Chicago last year. Soon I will give you the back ground to this piece!
